Yardage is plentiful and it is marked on most all of the sprinkler heads (there are some humurous ones like the "You Wish" marker on 18 if you can find them). The greens are really big and pretty fast, but they roll pretty well (so PLEASE don't forget to fix your ball marks). Ask the folks who tried US OPEN qualifying a few years back). The rough is normally** very manageable with two cuts and may just save your ball from going in the water (I say normally, because if the superintendent wanted, he could make this course unbelievably hard by letting the rough get nasty). ![]() Fairways are a little narrow, but will improve your distance considerablly if you can hit them. The very long tee boxes (some up to 150yds)are cut short and for the most part are flat which reduces your options of blame. The course is well maintained for a links course. Both par5's on the back are reachable in two, and all the greens on the back are flatter allowing you to be more aggressive with your putt(s). The back nine is your opportunity to get back some of those strokes that may have gone swimming away from you on the front. The back nine however will make you feel like a golfer again, with shorter, more forgiving holes. Once you get past the first 4 however, it's smooth sailing on rest the front nine with the exception of 8, which is a long par4 with one of the biggest greens on the course and 9 which again has water lining the right side and likes to gulp up wandering shots. ![]() And for you low handicapers: I know how losing brand a new $4 golf ball really sucks. The first 4 can can put a put a VERY sour note on your golf outing if you are not very, very carful.įor all you high handicap players use your reserve supply of golf balls first, because the first 4 holes all have water on the right side from tee green to collect those new golf balls that are designed to go further, straigter, and stop quicker. You will want to arrive at the course early to warm up, because the most difficult part of the golf course is the first 4 holes. ![]() A low handicap golfer should move back to the tips to enhance your experience. Your danios and goldfish prefer a good amount of swimming space. For meaty options, you can go with brine shrimp or bloodworms which are high in protein, low on fat, and have a clean ingredient list. Fish food with omega-rich flakes and pellets are great choices, while crustaceans are also a good choice for a healthy clean diet as they promote balanced gut flora that benefits both plant & animal life on earth. Healthy Dietīoth the goldfish and zebra danios need nutritious food to stay healthy in captivity. If you can provide your danios and goldfish with the necessary care, they will be happy and healthy companions. However, both fish need to be kept clean and fed a balanced diet. Goldfish, on the other hand, are much more laid back and require less active care. Danios are active little fish that need plenty of swimming space and plenty of food. Is the temperature right? Are you adding too much food and supplements? Does the filter work properly with no leaks or air bubbles in it when cleaning/changing it out? They Need Attentionīoth the zebra danios and goldfish need a lot of attention if they are to live happy and healthy lives. However, if you notice your goldfish or the ice bug doing anything unusual (such as inactivity, unusual swimming, or hiding behavior) be sure to take note of how your tank water is being taken care of. Most healthy fish will be fine with a normal aquarium setup, which includes an air pump for oxygenation and a filtration system for maintaining proper pH levels in the tank. Good Water QualityĪlthough goldfish and zebra danios are tropical active fish, both need clean water that is kept as close to 74 degrees Fahrenheit (23 degrees Celsius) temperature conditions as possible. Danios also need plenty of floating plants, caves, and hiding spots, while goldfish need a place to hide. Danios need at least 30 gallons of water, while goldfish need at least 20 gallons of water. Zebra danios and goldfish can both live in a large aquarium, but they both need a lot of space. What Are the Requirements for Keeping Zebra Danios and Goldfish? A Lot of Space ![]() They also like to live in relatively warm water, which is why they are often used as a popular choice for fish keeping in tropical climates. Goldfish do not need plenty of water movement they will consume food faster if it settles at the bottom of their tank. Goldfish can grow to be up to 2 inches long but are usually smaller in the home aquarium. They are considered peaceful and get along well with other fish species. Goldfish are a popular aquarium fish species and come in a variety of colors, including black, white, yellow, and orange. Zebra danios also have interesting decorative features on their body including stripes, spots, and patterns. They are omnivorous, meaning they will eat both plant and animal matter, so they would be a good choice for an aquarium with a variety of food options. These fish come in many different colors and can be kept in either fresh or saltwater aquariums. Master League has a handful of new real world managers to pick from but other than that it's exactly the same as last year, and so we must skip all those pointless cutscenes with dialogue choices once again. I've never turned the sound off a video game quicker than when I started PES 2021. And the menus are still awful, as they were last year, and the year before, and for as long as I can remember. PES can't seem to decide whether the X button or the Options / Menu button should be used for progression. Players also have the annoying habit of sometimes getting in each other's way, bumping together like children in a playground. This doesn't happen often, but when it does happen it's pretty annoying. Players still sometimes abruptly stop for no apparent reason after you try to pass to them. I don't think I ever won a penalty in PES 2020 and I haven't won one in PES 2021 so far. This issue is especially pronounced in the box. And the ref jogs happily on, seemingly oblivious to the bloodbath that surrounds him. I've smashed into players, fouling so despicably that my opponent - sometimes opponents - fly into the air, their limbs warping to form shapes Cthulhu would be proud of. He'll blow a foul for nothing, stopping play even when you've retained possession and are through on goal, but he seems allergic to his whistle even when carnage is staring him in the face. The referee is just as maddening as he was last year. I get more satisfaction from passing in PES than I do shooting.ĭespite this, frustrations linger on. PES' ball feels grounded in real-world physics, travelling in hypnotic arcs inspired by cosmic orbits. It steals the show, coursing through the air like a ballet dancer leaping across the stage. I've said this before, but it's worth saying again: PES' ball is wondrous. It's a slower, more realistic game of virtual football than FIFA, and it looks and feels fantastic when a silky move ends in a goal. Which means PES 2021's gameplay is pretty good! Beautiful, at times, even. But only the most hardcore of PES fans will notice any difference. The goalkeepers are perhaps a touch more reliable. It feels all players take a heavier first touch, so you always have to be mindful of how you receive the ball. Perhaps there are subtle tweaks to the shooting. Perhaps the players are ever so slightly more responsive than they are in PES 2020. I've seen some say they feel the gameplay is much improved, but I found it hard to tell much of a difference. It's hard to tell where exactly PES 2021 takes its PES 2020 gameplay cue from. In the year since, many of these wrinkles have been ironed out by patches, and so PES 2021 fares much better at launch. PES 2020 had serious gameplay issues when it came out, many of which I covered in our review. It's last year's game although, thankfully, not last year's game as it was when it launched. The upshot is PES 2021 is not really worth writing home about. ![]() But goodwill notwithstanding, PES 2021 the product is a bit like Spurs: lacking major signings and with no real hope of challenging for the title. I certainly respect Konami's decision, and hope FIFA publisher EA takes note. Developer Konami had signalled as much, wisely managing fans' expectations in the same breath it promised to hit the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X hard with a new game engine in 2021. Not a proper, brand new PES, but a season update, essentially the same game as last year's effort but with up to date lineups and a cheaper launch price of £25. ![]() An essential thing in this application that could be considered is the speed it provides for downloading. ![]() It doesn’t take a lot of computer resources and doesn’t work at all on the other applications. But in fact - and for a long time- Christmas itself wasn't especially Christmas-like. Such riotous goings-on might not sound especially Christmas-like. "That's a big deal in Rome, because they were so class conscious," Messner said. One of the most famous aspects of Saturnalia was its topsy-turvydom. A surviving fourth century Roman calendar illustrates the month of December with images of a mask, and a pair of dice. ![]() "Saturnalia" has entered the English dictionary, as meaning "an occasion of wild revelry." (Oxford Languages). The holiday has become synonymous, over the centuries, with the excess for which the ancient Romans are famous - especially in Hollywood movies. Solstice Saturnalia takes inspiration from the pagan winter Saturnalia festivals of ancient Rome that paid homage to Saturn, the god of agriculture. "Saturnalia, with lots of fanfare, celebrated the bounty and looked forward to a new year filled with plenty," he said. "Saturn was - among other things - the god of bounty and agriculture," said Floyd Moreland, originally from Passaic, director emeritus of City University of New York's Greek/Latin Institute. There were other ways, however, in which Saturnalia resembled Christmas less than Mardi Gras, or even April Fools' Day. "The poet Catullus complains that someone gave him an inferior book of verse," McDonough said. In one account from the first century B.C., someone is heard grousing about his Saturnalia present. Ring a bell? The Romans even suffered from post-holiday letdown. There would have been extra candles and lamps in the house, to provide light in a season of darkness. Some scholars have suggested that greenery was brought into the home: Saturnalia was a winter solstice festival. " 'Io Saturnalia!' is Greek," McDonough said. "Little dolls, things like that." People greeted each other with special holiday phrases. "It was usually minor gifts, little gifts," McDonough said. 17 to 23 would have been typical, though there were variations over time - that involved feasting, merry-making, and gift-giving. What's definitely true is that Saturnalia was a December festival - Dec. "This idea that the Saturnalia was somehow baptized as a Christian festival just doesn't add up with the way the early church functioned." "I don't buy the theory, largely because the early church was really strident about not being pagan, and not being accommodating of pagan ways," Messner said. This scenario seems dubious to Roman historian Brian Messner, who teaches at Lincoln Christian University in Illinois. In the fourth century - so the story goes - the early church fathers deliberately re-branded a popular pagan holiday as a Christian festival, in order to make their religion more attractive to converts. No more gifts?: Stop buying holiday gifts, says activist and 'Reverend' of The Church of Stop ShoppingĬhristmas lights: The most spectacular holiday houses in North Jersey Holidays: Celebrate 'It's a Wonderful Life' and other classics with anniversaries this Christmas Historians argue about the exact relation between Saturnalia and Christmas - the holiday that, by many accounts, grew out of it. ![]() "This was a festive season for the Romans, that was continued by the Christians in a sense," said historian Scott McDonough, who teaches ancient history courses at William Paterson University in Wayne. It's almost as if there was… a war on Saturnalia! ![]() She moves at a steady pace and can only jump a short distance. Mo can handle herself in the field but her capabilities seem almost too realistic. There’s no doubt that you’ll spend a lot of time running and jumping but it’s just a way of moving the narrative along. Most interactions involve pulling or pushing something and the only challenge there is how long you can hold your patience. Yes, there are a couple of obstacle courses and puzzles, but the solutions are there before you even get the full problem. You need to accept that this game is about the story rather than gameplay. Though it’s quite strong, Minute of Islands drops the clock a few times. In contrast, what can really hurt events is poor timing. It creates an unusual imbalance where the more we learn about her history, the more we wonder about her future. ![]() Part of the gameplay is searching for Mo’s memories and each time she finds one, the narrator fills us in on her past. The narrator provides exposition and flavor text to fill us in on the world and what used to be. Though Mo’s quest takes her to the different islands to visit each giant, very little is answered. The game begins with a question as to why the power has stopped flowing. Of course, we need to mention the sense of mystery. The music compliments Mo’s journey and there’s a subtle yet distinct change to the soundtrack as she progresses. The hallucinatory sequences are especially effective and sell their surreal nature. The way the plant life has overgrown in such complex patterns really emphasizes how much nature has retaken the world. The islands you visit and the creatures you see are colorful and distinct. Even so, the game’s stylized choices work in its favor. Leading up to its release, there have already been comparisons made between it and shows like Adventure Time. The narrator alternates between exposition and expressing Mo’s thoughts which really get us to feel something for the character. The game highlights that this is a story about Mo and how she justifies what she’s doing. While on the surface, the narrative appears to be an interesting take on the save-the-world story, it reveals something much deeper. The first to mention is the narrative blending. Minute of Islands definitely has plenty of those moments. Sometimes the best moments in storytelling and gameplay are all about timing. It’s an interesting story with mystery and high stakes. As the game beings, every machine stops and Mo needs to go on a journey to restore the power. However, with the help of a tool called the Omni Switch and the strength of four giant brothers, Mo is able to activate purifiers that protect the islands from infection. A devastating fungal plague has devastated the local wildlife. ![]() ![]() It follows Mo, a young girl living in a series of underground tunnels beneath an archipelago of islands. While Minute of Islands does have a narrator, she takes her time telling the story as you play. The speaker informs us of the current state of the world as troubling images flood the screen. Many of the most well-known post-apocalyptic games open with an intro narration. However, this turns out to be the case in Studio Fizbin’s upcoming Minute of Islands, a narrative platformer that follows a girl who struggles to keep her world safe while dealing with her own internal battles. It’s rare that changes in the environment itself prove to be a cataclysmic event. Though, these are usually a result of zombie outbreaks or the aftermath of war. They can be scattered across small settlements, living nomadic lifestyles, or have miraculously managed to establish huge cities. When it comes to post-apocalyptic games, there’s usually a lot of debate as to how people are surviving in the new world. ![]() This inspired Yuito to follow the footsteps of his hero and ever since then, has kept the ear cuff he received from his savior on that memorable day. Hopefully this helps someone, as the problem drove me crazy for days before I found this buried in the settings. Without this, the speaker always seemed too loud or too soft. I flipped this switch to the "on" position, restarted, and then was able to adjust the volume on my bluetooth speaker and phone separately, and get much finer volume control than before. Then, in the developer options, there is a switch that says "Disable absolute volume." The description for this option says, "Disables the Bluetooth absolute volume feature in case of volume issues with remote devices such as unacceptably loud volume or lack of control." To do this, you first have to enable developer options by going to your phone info under settings, and tapping the build number repeatedly. (I have a Moto Z3, but this option also exists on Samsung S7/S8 and others) which sets the volume on the phone to 50% so I got a blast when I turned on the music.Īny ideas?I found a fix for this for my bluetooth speaker that should work with ANY up-to-date android device, without installing third-party software. Using the volume control on the headphone just moves the volume on the phone so the problem occurs. I can turn it down to a comfortable level but not soft. it's impossible to play music softly through my Bluetooth B&W headphones. ![]() It may be the one that directly ties the volume control on the headphone to the volume control.
